Examples
These examples show RayTraceHeatTransfer.jl at work, from a first grey problem to a million-element benchmark. They are moving here from the package README; until each has its own page, its link leads to its section there.
Participating media in 2D
- Example 1 — 2D Grey Participating Medium: the basic workflow, validated against Crosbie and Schrenker.
- Example 2 — Spectral Greenhouse Atmosphere: a spectral problem with adaptive spectral bins.
- Example 3 — Line Spectrum vs Line-by-Line Reference: a synthetic line spectrum against an independent line-by-line solution.
- Example 4 — Anisotropic Scattering vs a Discrete-Ordinates Reference: directional scattering and reflection on angular bins.
- Example 5 — Circular Enclosure from Triangular Elements: curved geometry built from triangles.
Surfaces in 3D
- Example 6 — 3D Surface Enclosure: analytical view factors in a cube.
- Example 7 — Triangulated Icosphere: convergence on a sphere built from triangles.
- Example 8 — Mixed Triangular and Quadrilateral Faces: meshes mixing both element shapes.
- Example 9 — Non-Convex Enclosure: an L-Shaped Duct: ray tracing where surfaces shadow each other.
Accuracy and scale
- Example 10 — Convergence in Rays and Mesh: how the solution converges with more rays and a finer mesh.
- Example 11 — Large Scale: a Million Elements: a billion rays and a million elements, against the diffusion approximation.
